QUETTA: Balochistan has recorded a significant improvement in its immunization coverage, marking a historic step forward in the province’s public health sector. According to Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the immunization rate has increased from 38 per cent to 47 per cent in just one year, breaking a five-year stagnation.
“This achievement is a testament to the effective reforms, transparent policies, and better governance of the Balochistan government,” said Chief Minister Bugti. He expressed gratitude, saying, “Alhamdulillah, Balochistan has made historic progress in the health sector.”
The findings were confirmed through the Third Party Verification of Immunization Coverage Survey and a report by Aga Khan University, both of which highlighted measurable progress in the province’s Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
With the current pace, the chief minister stated that the government’s 70 per cent immunization coverage target now appears well within reach. He added that growing public trust in transparent governance and a focus on health reforms have played a key role in achieving these results.
The chief minister also noted that a major chunk of these immunization statistics are about children’s immunization, which promises a safer tomorrow for the population of the province. “This success in the health sector is the foundation for a healthy, safe, and bright future for Balochistan,” Bugti said.
