Imran Khan arrested in Jinnah House attack

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been taken into custody concerning the Jinnah House attack case.

Khan was formally arrested by the Investigation Police and sent to Adiala Jail, where he will be charged with inciting against the state.

The PTI founder is reportedly charged in 12 cases, including the attack on Jinnah House on May 9, according to the authorities.

The Rawalpindi court rejected the police’s original plea to transfer him to Lahore for additional investigation because of security concerns.

On Monday, Imran Khan is set to appear via video connection before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, where the police are anticipated to ask for his remand in order to conduct more investigation into the Jinnah House incident.
