Imran Khan becomes most visited inmate in Adiala jail’s history

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has met with 115 individuals over 250 days in Adiala jail.
According to official documents, various personalities have visited him a total of 415 times since September 2023, making him the prisoner with the highest number of meetings in Adiala jail’s 37-year history.
Notably, the list of meetings presented before the apex court excludes interactions with the NAB, doctors, FIA, and police officials. In the past two months alone, Khan has had 138 meetings. MNA Umair Niazi tops the list with 25 visits.
Khan’s visitors include his wife, family members, party leaders, lawyers, and doctors. His sister Uzma Khan has visited 20 times, while his other sisters, Halima Khan, Noreen Niazi, and Aleema Khan, have collectively met him 15 times. His wife, Bushra Bibi, has had 16 meetings.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has had 18 meetings, party leader Sher Afzal Marwat has had 17, Shoaib Shaheen 13, and Rauf Hassan 8. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has visited six times, and former president Arif Alvi has had one meeting. Intizar Hussain Panchota has met Khan ten times, and Naeem Haider Panchota eight times.
In February 2024, Khan had 74 meetings, followed by 64 in April, and 57 in subsequent months with various party leaders. He has also had 43 meetings with party leaders overall.
Imran Khan is noted as the wealthiest inmate in the jail, with millions of rupees in his jail account. Additionally, the government has spent over Rs50 million on his security, staff, and jail expenditures.
