ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has criticised judicial remarks made by Supreme Court Judge Justice Musarrat Hilali regarding the May 9, 2023, incidents.
In a tweet, Khan said that judges should refrain from making comments before hearing both sides, as judicial remarks influence not only ongoing cases but also future ones.

Imran Khan emphasised that judicial ethics require restraint, adding that no independent commission or judicial inquiry has been conducted to investigate the May 9 events.
“The police and intelligence agencies have not presented any evidence in court to support their cases. Even CCTV footage of the incident is missing,” he said.
Last week, judges on the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench stated that the May 9, 2023, incidents had exceeded all limits. They emphasized that the court would decide the matter based on Pakistani law, not any foreign legislation.
Justice Musarrat Hilali of the Constitutional Bench noted that PTI had backed military courts when they were introduced under the 21st Amendment after the 2014 APS attack, which claimed 132 children’s lives.
“Now, in opposition, you say it was wrong, but the party had previously supported the amendment,” she remarked.
Khan, who was arrested on May 9 from the Islamabad High Court, reiterated that the Supreme Court had already declared his arrest illegal.
