Imran’s symbol was ‘baton’ not bat: Maryam Nawaz

OKARA: In a spirited start to their election campaign, Pakistan Muslim Nawaz’s Chief Organizer, Maryam Nawaz, inaugurated the electoral drive from Okara.

Embraced warmly by a large number of people, she highlighted the unwavering support of Okara residents for Nawaz Sharif, emphasizing their steadfast loyalty.

Addressing the crowd, Maryam Nawaz acknowledged the significance of Okara in the electoral landscape, noting that Nawaz Sharif had asked her to commence the campaign from this city. “Rather than seeking revenge against political opponents, Nawaz Sharif underscored the natural course of justice and the people’s united stand against injustice,” she said.

Reflecting on the current political climate, she commented on the silence of nature’s rod, emphasizing that oppressors, despite their apparent strength, were revealing their cowardice and fearfulness.

Drawing a parallel to recent political developments, Maryam Nawaz narrated a tale of resignations, likening it to a retreat of the cowardly with their tails between their legs. She reminded the audience of the metaphorical plaster on the leg and bucket on the face of Imran Khan, symbolizing the consequences faced by those who engaged in dishonest practices.

Without naming Imran Khan, she told the crowd: “you remember the plaster on the leg and bucket on the face, right, when someone is truthful like Nawaz Sharif, he stands firm, they were wearing plaster because they had stolen, the oppressors are reaching their end one by one. Nawaz Sharif went home with respect and they went with disgrace, their election symbol was the baton that was in his hand and not the bat. Their election symbol should be a watch and a petrol bomb, such people get a lesson as a sign, not an election symbol.”

She said that “he was called ‘good to see you’ in the courts. The former chairman of PTI had a habit of facilitation which is now over. He made everyone elected unopposed. What kind of democracy is this, he asked for receipts from others, he had nothing to give himself? PTI held fake intra-party elections, the former chairman of PTI was not at fault, he had a habit of being pampered. As many times as Nawaz Sharif was removed, the people brought him back, the people will make Nawaz Sharif the prime minister for the fourth time.”
