Pakistani woman searches for her Filipino mother
In a separate development, a Karachi woman named Aliya has launched a social media appeal to find Filipino her mother, from whom she was separated as an infant in the Philippines more than three decades ago.
Aliya said she was born on June 15, 1993 in Pasay City to his Pakistani father and Filipino mother.
Her father, Azhar Abbas Abidi, took her from her Filipino mother, Gloria Go, when she was around eight months old and brought her illegally to Pakistan.
She was then left in the care of her father’s married sister and has had no official identity documents since.
She recalled only one brief conversation with her mother, arranged by a court, when she was five or six years old.
“I want to find my mother. Please help me,” she appealed, adding that she also hoped to secure a legal identity for herself and her two children.
