INDIA vs USA: Men in Blue post 162-9 as skipper scores 84 to regain momentum

INDI vs USA: India reach 50 but lose six key wickets

KOLKATA: In the ongoing T20 World Cup clash, India vs USA saw the Men in Blue post a competitive 162-9, regaining momentum thanks to a stellar 84 from skipper Suryakumar Yadav.

Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, India looked to assert control, and Suryakumar Yadav’s composed innings anchored the innings amid regular wickets.

Ishan Kishan contributed a quick 20, while Rinku Singh and Axar Patel chipped in with valuable runs down the order, ensuring India crossed the 160-run mark. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, India’s batting depth was on display as partnerships at crucial moments prevented a collapse. The skipper’s 84 sets a platform, but the USA will look to exploit any mistakes to stage a comeback.

For the USA, bowlers like Saurabh Netravalkar and Shadley van Schalkwyk kept things tight, picking up key wickets and limiting the flow of runs. Netravalkar’s 2-36 and Shadley’s 1-25 highlighted the visitors’ fightback, ensuring that India could not run away with the innings.

Earlier, the India vs USA clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup took an unexpected turn early in the innings, as the United States struck with six key wickets in the first 14 overs, denting India’s initially strong position.

As India vs USA moves into the bowling phase, all eyes will be on the Men in Blue to defend this total and maintain momentum in their World Cup campaign.
