India retain top spot in new ICC Men’s ODI Rankings

India maintain top spot but where Pakistan in latest ICC Men’s T20I Rankings?

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest men’s player and team rankings, with India maintaining their dominance in One Day Internationals (ODIs). The Indian team continues to hold the No. 1 position, followed by New Zealand in second and Australia in third. Pakistan occupy fifth place in the updated standings.

In the batting charts, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma has reclaimed the No. 1 spot among ODI batsmen, overtaking Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran, who now sits second. India’s young captain Shubman Gill holds the third position, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains steady at No. 4.

Among ODI bowlers, Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan continues to lead the rankings, with South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj in second place.

In T20 Internationals, India’s rising star Abhishek Sharma retains his No. 1 position among batsmen. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has gained one spot to reach 11th in the latest update. On the bowling front, India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy tops the T20 rankings, while Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed has slipped one place to eighth.

The latest rankings reflect the growing competition among cricketing nations and highlight the consistent performances of Indian and Afghan players across formats.

Just last week, the ICC’s previous update saw several Pakistani players make significant progress across formats following their recent performances. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali emerged as the biggest mover in the Test bowling rankings, climbing four places to second, just behind India’s Jasprit Bumrah, who retained his No. 1 position.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi also rose three spots to 19th among Test bowlers, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan jumped four places to 16th in the Test batting charts. Former captain Babar Azam moved up two spots to 22nd.

In that same update, Joe Root remained the world’s top Test batsman, while Bumrah continued to dominate the bowling rankings. Among limited-overs players, India’s Shubman Gill led the ODI batting charts, and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan was ranked No. 1 among bowlers. In T20Is, Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy both held the top positions in batting and bowling, respectively – a dominance that has continued in the latest rankings.
