Indian singer-actor Rishabh Tandon passes away after cardiac arrest

NEW DELHI: Popular Indian singer and actor Rishabh Tandon, also known by his stage name “Faqeer”, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in New Delhi. He was 35.

According to family sources quoted by Indian media, Rishabh was in New Delhi due to his father’s ill health when he suffered a fatal heart attack late last night.

The singer’s last Instagram post, shared just 11 days ago, featured him with his wife. His family has requested privacy during this difficult time.

Indian media reported that Rishabh Tandon was not only a talented singer and composer but also an accomplished actor.

His sudden demise has left the Indian music industry in mourning, with fans expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the young artist.

Earlier, veteran Bollywood actor Govardhan Asrani, best known for his comic timing and the iconic role of a quirky jailer in the classic film “Sholay”, passed away at the age of 84 in a Mumbai hospital on Monday, his manager confirmed.

The comedian actor’s death comes just hours after he shared heartfelt Diwali greetings on social media.

With a career spanning over five decades, Asrani appeared in more than 350 films, leaving an indelible mark on Indian cinema through his versatile performances in both comedy and character roles.

He was regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s finest comic actors, remembered for his effortless humour and memorable screen presence.

According to the Indian media, while details of his illness were not officially shared, reports indicate that Asrani had been suffering from age-related health complications.
