Pakistan can still qualify for Super 8 with Indian win over US

NEW YORK: India’s victory over the United States (US) in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has not only secured their spot in the Super 8 but has also reshaped the qualification equations for other teams, including Pakistan.
In their match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, India limited the US to 110 at a loss of eight wickets. Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh helped India win the match, taking four wickets.

India’s third consecutive win in the tournament solidifies their position at the top of the points table in group A. Australia, South Africa and India have all secured a place in the next stage of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Pakistan still has a chance to qualify for the Super 8. However, it a challenging path. With just one win in three matches, Pakistan’s fate hinges on specific outcomes by other teams in future matches.
If Ireland wins against the US on Friday, followed by an Indian win over Canada on Saturday, and finally, if Pakistan wins against Ireland on Sunday, Pakistan can qualify for the Super 8.
The scenario is super complicated and heavily reliant on chance. Considering the formidable performance the underdog team, the US, displayed against a powerhouse like India, there’s a strong likelihood that the US will effortlessly defeat the weaker Irish team, who have consistently suffered defeats in every game thus far.
The victory of India over Canada seems almost certain. Meanwhile, if Pakistan approaches the game with seriousness, defeating Ireland should be easily attainable on Saturday, hopefully averting another significant upset.
