Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse are preparing to enter a new chapter together after revealing they are expecting their first child, nearly a decade after first crossing paths and weeks after an unsettling break-in at their home.

The couple confirmed the baby news while attending the 79th Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, with Palvin appearing to debut her baby bump in a flowing pale blue gown as the pair posed together on the red carpet. The announcement marks the latest milestone in a relationship that has steadily unfolded in the public eye. 

How Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse met

Palvin and Sprouse first met at a party in 2017, but their romance did not begin immediately. According to past interviews, the former Disney Channel actor sent the Hungarian model a direct message after meeting her, though she initially did not respond.

The pair eventually connected months later and officially began dating in June 2018. As their relationship progressed, Palvin spoke openly about finding stability in Sprouse, telling Vogue Australia in 2018 that she felt she had met “the perfect guy”. 

By early 2019, the couple had moved in together, frequently sharing glimpses of their relationship online while balancing busy careers across fashion and film.

Engagement, marriage and a relationship rule

After several years together, the couple became engaged in 2022, though they publicly confirmed the news in June 2023 before marrying one month later in a ceremony in Hungary.

Over the years, the pair have often spoken about how they maintain their marriage despite demanding schedules. In a recent interview, Palvin revealed they try not to spend more than two to three weeks apart, explaining that when one is travelling for work, the other often tries to visit. 

Their growing family news also comes shortly after a frightening incident at the couple’s Los Angeles home. In April, the pair experienced a break-in scare after an intruder allegedly entered their property, with reports stating Sprouse restrained the individual until police arrived.

Now, the couple appear to be embracing a happier moment as they prepare to welcome their first child together, with the Cannes appearance offering fans a glimpse at what may be their biggest chapter yet.
