Instagram introduces advanced new reels editing features

Instagram has introduced significant and modern upgrades to its Reels camera, aimed at providing users with better, faster, and more creative video-editing capabilities.

With the new update users can now record videos up to 20 minutes through the Reels camera — a major increase compared to the previous limit, according to details.

The company said that these changes are based on user feedback and include a slider to control the intensity of the “Touch-Up Mode”, an improved green-screen function, and a new countdown and timing control during recording.

To further simplify the editing process, Instagram has also added an “Undo” option, allowing users to easily revert the last clip added to the Reels sequence.

Although the upgraded camera allows recording of up to 20 minutes, Instagram’s algorithm still prefers Reels that are under 3 minutes.

Experts say this upgrade will allow creators to produce detailed videos, tutorials, and series-style content, while the platform continues to focus on short yet impactful content.
