Intense competition marks HUM Spelling Whizz Lahore regional round

WEB DESK: Following an exciting round of contests yesterday, the Lahore Regional Round of the HUM Spelling Whizz took place at Alhamra Hall, where top-performing teams competed for a place in the national finals. After Karachi and Islamabad, Lahore’s bright young students showcased their intelligence, eloquence, and command of language in a thrilling display of competition.

Participants impressed the audience with their accurate pronunciation, spelling skills, and strong academic understanding, earning rounds of applause for their focus, discipline, and teamwork.

The panel of judges included Iqra Farooq, with Javed serving as the pronouncer and Qudsia Anwar as the moderator. Schools that advanced from the pool round to the regional stage included Think & Grow Rewind Campus, The Trust School Primary Boys, and Lahore Grammar School Sheikhupura.

At the conclusion of the round, the enthusiasm of the participants and the support of parents and teachers were widely appreciated. The judges lauded the students’ performances as a positive step toward promoting educational competitions in Pakistan.

The Nestlé Nido HUM Spelling Whizz is organized in collaboration with HUM News, supported by OGDCL and Innovated Choco Rings. Its entertainment partner is Onederland, hospitality partner Avari Express, technical support from HUMs Tech, live stream partner MyCo, and meal partner Burger O’Clock.

According to organizers, the competition aims to promote language learning, correct pronunciation, spelling accuracy, and academic confidence among children, giving them a platform to express their abilities in a competitive environment.

Earlier, the Karachi pool rounds were held from October 20 to 23, followed by the Regional Round at the Arts Council on October 24. In Islamabad, the pool round took place on October 28, and the Regional Round on October 29 at the NICL Building. The final stop was Lahore, where the pool round was held on October 31, and the Regional Round on November 1 at Alhamra Hall.

The Grand Final will take place on November 3 at Alhamra Hall, Lahore, where the winning teams from all regional rounds will compete for the national title.
