Intense fog shuts motorways in Punjab

MULTAN: Fog blankets Pakistan’s major highways, causing travel disruptions across Punjab and Sindh. The Motorway Police have reported that M-3 from Jaranwala to Rajana, M-4 from Khanewal to Multan, and M-5 from Multan to Rohri are currently closed due to dense fog.

Fog has also reduced visibility on the National Highway in cities including Mian Channu, Khanewal, Multan, Basti Malook, Lodhran, and Bahawalpur, as well as in Ahmedpur Sharqia, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sadiqabad.

Authorities warn that violating lanes in foggy conditions can lead to serious accidents and urge travelers to prefer daytime journeys. According to the Motorway Police, the safest travel window in fog is from 10am to 6pm.

Commuters are advised to stay alert, drive cautiously, and avoid night travel until visibility improves.
