Interior minister Naqvi holds meeting on KP law and order with governor Kundi

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and held detailed discussions on the law and order situation in the province.

During the meeting, Governor Kundi briefed the interior minister on the security challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in border areas, and updated him on ongoing operations against militants. Matters related to security measures, counterterrorism efforts, and coordination between federal and provincial institutions were also discussed.

Naqvi reaffirmed that establishing peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains a top priority of the federal government. He assured full cooperation and support to the province, stating that the federal government is ready to assist in every possible way to improve law and order.

The interior minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism, saying that joint efforts were yielding results in eliminating militant networks and their facilitators. He emphasized that no concessions would be made to militants and that operations would continue until lasting peace is achieved.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stressed that federal cooperation is essential for restoring and maintaining peace and order in the province. He underscored the need for joint and coordinated measures to effectively eliminate terrorism.

Both leaders agreed to further strengthen coordination between federal and provincial authorities to ensure improved security and stability across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
