‘Invincible’ season 4 release time confirmed as major new villain arrives

Invincible is back this week, and season 4 is not just dropping three episodes at once. It is also introducing a major new villain and pushing the story into a darker, more intense phase.

The hit Prime Video animated series returns on Wednesday, March 18, with a global release of episodes 1, 2 and 3.

New villain Dinosaurus makes his debut

Ahead of the premiere, Prime Video has revealed a first look at Dinosaurus, a new villain who is expected to play a major role in the upcoming season.

Voiced by Matthew Rhys, Dinosaurus may appear unusual at first glance but is far more dangerous than he seems. The character is powerful enough to rival Mark and significantly more intelligent, making him one of the most unpredictable threats introduced so far.

Season 4 picks up after the events of the previous instalment, with Mark dealing with the aftermath of widespread destruction on Earth. However, new threats are already emerging, signalling a much darker and more complex chapter in the story.

Early critic reactions suggest season 4 could be one of Invincible’s most intense chapters yet, with reviewers pointing to a darker tone, heavier emotional stakes and more complex moral dilemmas for Mark Grayson.

Some critics also note that while the series continues to deliver its signature violence, it is now leaning more into character-driven storytelling, particularly around Mark’s evolving mindset and the consequences of his past decisions.
