iPhone 15 launch nears: How much will it cost?

iPhone 15 launch price in Pakistan

Many Pakistani smartphone users admire the iPhone for its outstanding performance and impressive camera quality. With the launch of the next iPhone just around the corner, numerous rumours are circulating on the internet speculating about the potential price of the Apple iPhone 15 in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

While it’s anticipated that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will maintain similar pricing to their current models, the Pro models may undergo significant cost adjustments. This is attributed to their new titanium chassis and periscope camera technology, particularly on the larger model.

This price adjustment coincides with a broader trend of declining global smartphone demand projected for the latter half of 2023. According to Lin, Apple has placed orders for 80 to 90 million iPhone 15 units for this period, a decrease from the 90 to 100 million units ordered for the iPhone 14 models last year.

The order distribution is led by the iPhone 15 Pro Max, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Plus.

Expected price

Previous forecasts have suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could be at least $100 more expensive than their predecessors, translating to approximately PKR 30,750.00 more in Pakistani rupees. For reference, the iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 (about PKR 307,192.50), and the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1,099 (about PKR 337,942.50). Consequently, the iPhone 15 Pro may have a starting price ranging from $1,099 (PKR 337,942.50) to $1,199 (PKR 368,692.50), while the iPhone 15 Pro Max could range from $1,199 (PKR 368,692.50) to $1,299 (PKR 399,442.50).

Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was considering raising the prices for both the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Analyst Jeff Pu has also indicated that the iPhone 15 Pro models could be pricier than their predecessors. He believes the iPhone 15 Pro could start at $1,099 (PKR 337,942.50), up from the $999 (PKR 307,192.50) starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro. The entire iPhone 15 lineup is widely expected to be unveiled at Apple’s “Wonderlust” event on Tuesday, September 12.

Lin additionally mentioned that information from the upstream supply chain suggests that Apple will increase the display sizes of both Pro models next year. This aligns with other rumours suggesting that the two devices will transition from 6.1- and 6.7-inch displays to 6.3- and 6.9-inch displays.

However, it’s essential to note that iPhones are typically sold at higher prices in Pakistan due to taxes and PTA approval charges, and this is expected to apply to the upcoming iPhone 15 series as well. Furthermore, these price details are based on rumours, and the official prices will be disclosed by Apple upon the launch of the next iPhone.
