Iran launched a series of coordinated strikes targeting energy infrastructure across the Middle East, escalating regional tensions and disrupting key oil and gas operations.
According to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), missiles struck oil refineries in Haifa, Israel, causing power outages in several parts of the city. The Guards said that multi-warhead “Nasrallah” missiles were used for the first time in attacks on refineries in both Haifa and Ashdod. Additional missile systems, including Khybershakan, Emad, and Hajj Qassem, were also deployed.
The attacks were described by Iranian officials as a response to a prior strike on the Pars gas field.
Beyond Israel, Iranian strikes reportedly hit energy facilities in multiple Gulf countries. In Saudi Arabia, a refinery near the Red Sea port of Yanbu was targeted. In the United Arab Emirates, missile impacts disrupted gas facilities in Abu Dhabi, forcing a temporary halt in operations.
Qatar also reported damage after an attack on the Ras Laffan gas field, where a fire broke out but was later brought under control. Kuwaiti authorities said drones targeted two industrial facilities, sparking fires at the sites.
The widespread nature of the strikes has raised concerns about the security of energy infrastructure across the region, with potential implications for global oil and gas markets. Officials in the affected countries have not yet released full assessments of the damage or indicated how long disruptions may last.
