Iran FM thanks Pakistan govt, people for support amid regional conflict

TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their support, saying Islamabad had shown solidarity with Tehran in the face of what he described as US and Israeli aggression.

In a message issued in the Urdu language, Araghchi said Pakistan’s government and public had expressed strong unity and backing for Iran.

“I sincerely thank the government and people of Pakistan for their cooperation and support,” he said, adding that Islamabad had demonstrated in practical terms that it stood with the Iranian government and people in difficult times.

Araghchi said Iran remained steadfast in its position with full trust in God and was determined to confront challenges.

He added that Tehran believed current challenges could be addressed with the support of friendly countries and their people.

Pakistan has sought to maintain balanced diplomatic ties in the Middle East and has repeatedly called for restraint and dialogue amid rising regional tensions.
