TEHRAN: Iran has fired missiles towards Israel, with the Revolutionary Guards saying that Israel must stop its attacks on Lebanon.
At least two people have been killed and 20 others injured after Israel launched a new wave of strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
The Israeli military said it has intercepted all missiles fired so far from Iran, adding that it has also detected additional launches aimed at Israel.
“The Air Force has so far intercepted all missiles launched from Iran,” the military said in its latest update, while confirming continued monitoring of incoming threats.
Iranian officials, however, said the strikes were a response to ongoing aggression. Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said Iran would not tolerate violations of the ceasefire or attacks on Lebanon.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that it will not tolerate violations of the ceasefire and aggression against Lebanon. Tonight, the aggressors received their response,” he wrote on X, warning of stronger retaliation if further actions continue.
Meanwhile, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reacted sharply, posting on social media that “Tehran must burn” shortly after reports of missile launches.
Israeli authorities have yet to issue an official government statement on the latest escalation.
