Iran offers to mediate in Pakistan-India tensions


WEB DESK: Iran has offered to play a role in easing tensions between Pakistan and India, signaling its readiness to support regional peace efforts.

Iran’s Secretary of National Security, Dr Ali Larijani, made the announcement during a special interview with senior anchorperson Asma Shirazi on Hum TV’s program “Faisla Aap Ka.” He stated that Tehran is prepared to take an active role in resolving the dispute and fostering sustainable peace in South Asia.

“Iran will extend every possible support to Pakistan and is even ready to give a blank check to help resolve the issue,” D. Larijani said. He added that if Pakistan places any responsibility on Iran, Tehran will fulfill it with full commitment. He also expressed confidence that India will refrain from attacking Pakistan in the future and emphasized Iran’s ongoing role in promoting trust-building and reducing tensions between the two countries.

Dr Larijani highlighted Iran’s deep regard for Pakistan and its people, stressing that promoting peace in the region is both a moral and regional responsibility for Tehran.
