Tensions in the Middle East escalated further on Sunday after Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a stark warning against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following social media speculation about his possible death.
In a statement released through its affiliated channels, the IRGC branded Netanyahu a “child‑killing criminal” and declared that if he is indeed alive, they would “continue to pursue and kill him with full force.”
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” the IRGC said, according to Iranian media. The remarks came after the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office issued a clarification amid speculation about Netanyahu’s health, saying the premier is “fine.”
“These are fake news; the Prime Minister is fine,” the office told Anadolu Agency when asked about social media posts claiming Netanyahu had been killed in retaliation for the recent Israeli and US strikes on Iran, international media reported.
