Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply as a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, a key command center of Iran’s armed forces, issued a strong warning in response to recent threats attributed to US President Donald Trump.
In a statement carried by state media, the Iranian military spokesperson cautioned that any attack on the country’s energy infrastructure would trigger a “decisive and severe” response, potentially expanding the scope of conflict across the region.
WARNING OF WIDER CONFLICT
The spokesperson said that Iran would not limit its response to direct retaliation alone. “If energy and fuel facilities are targeted, the response will be strong and far-reaching,” the official said.
The statement also warned that American-linked interests across the region could become targets if Iranian energy installations come under attack. “All energy facilities affiliated with the United States in the region will be within reach,” the spokesperson added.
ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE IN FOCUS
Energy asset, long considered both strategic and vulnerable, have increasingly become central to rising tensions. Iran’s warning underscores concerns that any escalation could disrupt oil supplies and threaten critical infrastructure beyond its borders.
Military analysts note that the targeting of energy facilities could have consequences not only for regional security but also for global markets, particularly given the strategic importance of Middle Eastern oil routes.
RISING REGIONAL TENSIONS
The exchange of threats highlights a growing risk of confrontation between Iran and the United States, with the potential to draw in other regional actors. The situation remains fluid, with diplomatic efforts appearing limited as rhetoric intensifies on both sides.
Observers warn that any miscalculation could quickly escalate into a broader conflict, particularly if key infrastructure becomes a target.
For now, Iran’s message appears clear: attacks on its energy sector would not go unanswered, and could trigger a wider and more dangerous phase of confrontation in the region.
