Iran’s Qalibaf says no compromise on national rights as Asim Munir meets officials in Tehran

TEHRAN: Iran’s top negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf held a meeting with army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday in Tehran.
Qalibaf said that Tehran would not compromise on the rights of its nation, according to Iranian media.
During a meeting, Qalibaf said Iran’s armed forces had rebuilt their capabilities during a ceasefire period and warned that if the United States “foolishly restarts the war”, the consequences would be “more crushing and bitter”.
Field Marshal Asim Munir held a series of high-level meetings in Tehran on Saturday with senior Iranian leadership as Islamabad stepped up diplomatic engagement aimed at easing regional tensions and encouraging dialogue.
Munir also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi with discussions focused on regional peace, stability and efforts to de-escalate tensions linked to US-Israeli military actions, according to officials cited by the Iranian state media.
Iran’s foreign minister held a second meeting with Pakistan’s army chief after talks on Tehran’s proposals Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson said adding that the gaps between the two sides (US-Iran) was “wide”.
No further details were immediately available.
Pakistan has increased its diplomatic outreach in recent days as Washington weighs potential military options should indirect negotiations with Tehran fail, sources familiar with the matter said.
Munir arrived in Tehran earlier and was received by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, according to Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR.
The meetings come amid heightened regional tensions, with Tehran and Islamabad both seeking to manage diplomatic fallout and prevent further escalation in the wider Middle East.
