WEB DESK: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to the United Arab Emirates, alleging that the Gulf nation played a role in recent strikes against Iranian territory.
In a statement released via state-affiliated channels, Tehran asserted that its recent actions against Emirati interests were not unprovoked aggressions but rather a “proportional retaliatory response” to maintain national security.
Claims of regional complicity
The Iranian military leadership has intensified its rhetoric, claiming to possess evidence that the UAE provided logistical or intelligence support for the recent incursions into Iranian airspace.
While the UAE has consistently maintained a policy of regional de-escalation, the IRGC insists that any infrastructure used to facilitate strikes against the Islamic Republic will be viewed as a legitimate military target.
This development marks a significant diplomatic fracture in the Persian Gulf, threatening the fragile stability that had been building through recent trade and diplomatic overtures between the two neighbours.
Threats to critical infrastructure
The IRGC’s communication concluded with an explicit ultimatum, warning that any further hostilities would trigger a much more severe phase of conflict.
According to the statement, if further attacks are launched or supported by the Emirates, Iran is prepared to strike the UAE’s “most critical” assets.
Analysts suggest this refers to the country’s vital energy installations, desalination plants, and international transport hubs.
As tensions reach a boiling point, the international community is monitoring the situation closely, fearing that a miscalculation could lead to a wider regional conflagration.
