WEB DESK: Canadian-Pakistani YouTuber Sham Idrees has issued a public statement in support of fellow creator Ducky Bhai following the latter’s controversial arrest and release, marking an unexpected end to the long-running rivalry between the two influencers.

In a detailed video shared shortly after Ducky’s release, Sham said he felt compelled to speak “honestly” about the situation, describing the online world as one filled with “lies, manipulation, and fake friendships.”

Sham revealed that many people encouraged him to celebrate Ducky’s arrest because of their past conflicts, but he refused, saying, “A person who has suffered himself understands someone else’s pain.”

He criticised Ducky’s “fake friends,” claiming they capitalised on the controversy for attention but disappeared when he needed support the most. Sham added that social media friendships rarely survive hard times, something he had personally experienced.

Although Sham acknowledged their history of fights, he emphasised that celebrating someone’s downfall is wrong: When someone who wronged you faces karma, you feel like celebrating, but as Muslims we shouldn’t. We should forgive.

Sham expressed hope that the ordeal would change Ducky for the better and said he now recognised the reality of “fake social-media friendships.” He also wished Ducky success, praying he becomes Pakistan’s first YouTuber to reach 10 million subscribers.

The video also featured a clip of Waqar Zaka alleging that some of Ducky’s close associates had spread rumours linking him to terrorist financing in Afghanistan.

Sham’s empathetic stance has received widespread praise online, with thousands of users commending his maturity. Some, however, accused him of using the moment to regain relevance.

Despite mixed reactions, the video has sparked major discussion in Pakistan’s YouTube community, marking a rare moment of reconciliation in an industry known for public feuds.
