Ishaq Dar, Amir Muqam to visit Kyrgyzstan tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam, will depart for Kyrgyzstan on Sunday.

Both federal ministers will depart for Bishkek tomorrow morning on a special aircraft “Prime Minister’s office has been monitoring the situation and has remained in contact with the Pakistani Ambassador in Bishkek Although the situation is satisfactory, the decision to send a delegation was made to ensure support and assistance for Pakistani students,” read a press release issued by the PM’s office.

Earlier today, embassy officials visited a hostel in Bishkek to inquire about the well-being of Pakistani students who were among several foreigners subjected to mob violence late Friday night.

The officials also met with the hostel administration.

Separately, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has resumed her duties after more than 16 hours. She also urged people to share factual information regarding the violence in Kyrgyzstan.
