Islamabad: acid-filled tanker leaks in G-12, four arrested

WEB DESK: An acid-filled tanker has leaked in Islamabad’s G-12 sector on Thursday, causing a strong stench to spread across the surrounding areas and prompting concerns over a possible fire hazard.

According to Islamabad Police, the leak was quickly reported by residents after fumes began to rise from the vehicle. Emergency teams reached the site and cordoned off the area to prevent any untoward incident.

Police officials confirmed that four individuals linked to the tanker have been taken into custody as part of the initial investigation into the cause of the leakage. Further inquiry is underway to determine responsibility and ensure safety compliance.

Police also stated that an acid storage godown is operating illegally within a residential area, and necessary action is being taken to address it.
