Islamabad police arrest Farkh Khokhar

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have arrested Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Farrukh Khokhar for possessing illegal weapons.

Farrukh Khokhar, a prominent social figure from the twin-cities, is also a cousin of of former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.

According to police sources, Khokhar was detained at a checkpoint on the Srinagar Highway during routine checking, along with illegal weapons. He was later shifted to the Aabpara Police Station.

Meanwhile, Aabpara Police Station House Officer Asim Ghaffar said that Khokhar did not have a valid weapon licence at the time of arrest.

It is worth noting that a few months ago, Farrukh Khokhar — associated with the prominent political center, Khokhar House in Rawalpindi — had met Maulana Fazlur Rehman and officially joined the JUI-F.

Farrukh Khokhar belongs to the family of former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Nawaz Khokhar and former senator and former spokesperson of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.

He is the nephew of Nawaz Khokhar, cousin of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, and son of Imtiaz Khokhar, also known as Taji Khokhar.
