Islamabad police arrest key bank robbery suspect


Robbery case in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police claimed to have apprehended the main suspect in a recent bank robbery, recovering stolen cash, firearms, ammunition and a motorcycle used in the crime.

Islamabad Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ali Raza shared these details during a press conference at the Rescue 15 office.

DIG Raza said that the accused, identified as Sulaiman, also known as Salo Bhai, was apprehended from Sargodha after an intensive five-day investigation led by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).

He said that the operation involved utilizing human resources, footage from Safe City surveillance cameras, digital tracking, and data analysis, enabling police teams to successfully track down and arrest the suspect.

According to the police officer, Sulaiman has a prior criminal record, with similar charges previously filed against him in Sargodha.

The DIG commended the dedication and thorough efforts of the police teams in solving the case.

He talked about the ICT police’s commitment to the security of every citizen, home, and workplace in the capital, claiming a significant decrease in crimes.

Meanwhile, Islamabad IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi announced rewards for the officers who carried out the operation successfully.
