17-year-old girl stabbed to death by former fiancé in Islamabad

WEB DESK: In a brazen attack, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Islamabad Police was shot and killed on Colonel Sher Khan Road, an area bordering the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. According to police officials, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Islamabad.

Rescue authorities swiftly transported the body of the slain officer to the Holy Family Hospital. A police spokesperson provided details, stating that the assailants not only opened fire on the official but also attacked him with knives.

The motive behind the targeted killing is currently unknown, and an investigation has been launched. The Islamabad Police have been tasked with leading the inquiry into the murder of their colleague. The incident has heightened concerns about law and order in the federal capital’s peripheral areas.

Taking notice of the incident, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the slain officer, expressing deep condolences and sympathy to his family over their loss. He has sought a detailed report on the incident from the Islamabad police chief and ordered the immediate arrest of those involved. Naqvi said he stands with the grieving family in their time of sorrow and assured them that the perpetrators will be brought to justice without delay.
