ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have seized 17 vehicles belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rescue 1122 Department.

The vehicles had accompanied KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s convoy to remove barricades placed on roads to stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from reaching Islamabad’s D-Chowk for a protest.

Sources said that in addition to the vehicles, 64 officials of the KP Rescue 1122 department and 24 personnel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police were also arrested.

According to sources, the seized vehicles include six ambulances, seven fire tenders, three water bowsers, and a crane.

According to the sources, the vehicles were now a “case property” and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government cannot use them.

A spokesperson for the Islamabad police said that the machinery and personnel from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were involved in an attack on Islamabad.

He said that legal action was being taken, and the seized vehicles and equipment will be presented in the court as evidence.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director General Rescue 1122 Dr Ayaz confirmed that a legal team was currently in Islamabad to recover the seized machinery and personnel.
