Authorities in Islamabad have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory amid heightened security measures, leading to major road closures and diversions across key arteries of the capital. Officials confirmed that both the Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway are facing significant diversions, while entry of all public transport onto the Expressway has been temporarily suspended.

In addition, transporters have been strictly instructed not to stop at bus stops or designated loops along affected routes, as authorities attempt to ease congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow.

The Red Zone and Extended Red Zone – home to key government buildings and diplomatic areas – have been completely sealed off for all types of traffic, further intensifying movement restrictions across the city.

Several major routes have been fully closed to commuters, including:

-Kashmir Chowk’s Club Road towards Zero Point,
-Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Serena Chowk,
-Shakar Parian Road from Seventh Avenue to Chand Tara Chowk,
-Jinnah Avenue from Blue Area to Khayaban Chowk, and
-Margalla Road from Faisal Chowk to Trail 3.

Officials have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies during this period.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated through the official Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel and the social media platforms of Islamabad Police, where real-time guidance and updates are being shared to help navigate the disruptions.
