Islamabad traffic advisory for peace talks: routes closed, diversions announced across city

Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of upcoming peace talks in the federal capital, outlining road closures and alternate routes to manage the expected flow of movement.
According to the spokesperson, commuters travelling from Peshawar to Rawalpindi via GT Road have been advised to use Faisal Mor, Chakri and Rawat Road as alternative routes. Similarly, those heading from Lahore to Peshawar should opt for Rawat, Chakri and the Taxila Motorway.
For traffic moving from sectors G-5, F-6 and G-6 towards Rawalpindi via Margalla Road, authorities have directed vehicles to use Ninth Avenue. Vehicles travelling from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point will also be diverted towards Ninth Avenue.
Passengers travelling from Bara Kahu to Rawalpindi are advised to take Ring Road, Bani Gala, Lehtrar Road or GT Road. Meanwhile, those coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should use Ninth Avenue via Saddar Road.
The advisory further states that the Expressway from Zero Point to Korral Chowk will remain closed for traffic. Commuters travelling from Colonel Sher Khan Road to Faisal Avenue are instructed to use Stadium Road via the Ninth Avenue signal.
For intercity travel, vehicles moving from Peshawar to Lahore should use the Taxila Motorway or the Fateh Jang Motorway via Tarnol Phatak. Heavy traffic from Lahore entering Islamabad or Rawalpindi has been directed to use Chak Beli Road and Chakri Motorway.
Authorities also confirmed that all routes leading to the Red Zone will remain completely closed for all types of traffic during this period.
