Islamabad traffic police issue advisory on six-hour road closures today

ISLAMABAD: The Capital City Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory informing citizens about the temporary closure of several major roads in the federal capital for six hours today.

According to the advisory, various roads in Islamabad will remain closed from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to traffic management arrangements. Police Lines Road and Faisal Avenue will remain partially closed, with traffic being diverted to alternate routes during this period.

Similarly, diversions will also be implemented on Srinagar Highway and the Islamabad Express Highway to ensure smooth traffic flow. The traffic police have advised commuters to use Margalla Road, Club Road, and nearby service roads as alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

The spokesperson for Islamabad Traffic Police urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly and leave their homes 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual to avoid delays. Traffic police personnel will be deployed at key points across the city to guide motorists and manage traffic efficiently.

Citizens seeking assistance or real-time traffic updates have been advised to contact the traffic helpline numbers 1915 or 15. The traffic police have appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and follow traffic instructions to ensure a smooth commute during the advisory period.
