KARACHI: In a nail-biting match at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday, Islamabad United triumphed over Quetta Gladiators by 39 runs in the 32st match of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) ninth season.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Islamabad United capitalised on the opportunity. Martin Guptill showcased his batting prowess by scoring 56 off 47 balls. He was well-supported by Salman Ali Agha’s brisk 31 runs off 21 balls. Shadab Khan also contributed with a notable 23 off just 13 balls.
Despite a valiant effort from Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers, including Mohammad Amir and Akeal Hosein each claiming two wickets, and Saud Shakeel, who managed to snatch a single wicket, they could not contain the onslaught from the United’s batting lineup.
