Islamabad United vs Peshawar Zalmi timeline: rainy weather delays the face-off

LAHORE: The Islamabad United vs Peshawar Zalmi match that was supposed to be played today here at 7PM was abandoned after the torrential rains gave hours long delay to the 6th PSL clash tonight.

Both the teams were given one point after the Isl United vs Pesh Zalmi match was abaondoned.

Earlier, the torrential rain hit the city on Match day, forcing the ground staff to cover the pitch and outfield. The toss couldn’t take place on time due to the pitch and the square, which were wet, and officials announced a delay to the clash after monitoring the conditions.

Reports had said that the showers were heavy and there were uncertainties over whether a full match was even possible.

It was the 7th clash of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The first clash was kicked off on March 26 as Lahore Qalandars vs Hyderabad Kingsmen faced each other off. Lahore Qalandars won by 69 runs. The second clash was on  March 27 as Quetta Gladiators faced Karachi Kings, with the clash ending in a 14-run win for Karachi Kings. The third clash took place between Peshawar Zalmi vs Rawalpindi Pindiz. The Peshawar Zalmi vs Rawalpindi Pindiz ended in a 5-run win for Peshawar Zalmi. Multan Sultans gained a 5-wicket victory over Islamabad United on March 28. The sixth match that took place as Quetta Gladiators vs Hyderabad Kingsmen ended in favour of Quetta Gladiators after securing 40 runs.
