Israel reports nearly 2,000 wounded; vows to target those appointing Iranian successor

Iran’s Guards claim strike on Netanyahu office in ‘tenth wave’ of attacks

The Israeli Health Ministry has confirmed that 1,929 people have been evacuated to hospitals since the outbreak of hostilities with Iran, underscoring the scale of the ongoing conflict. Many of the wounded have reportedly sustained injuries from missile attacks and clashes along sensitive border areas, though details on the severity of casualties remain limited.

In a series of statements, the Israeli army issued a strong warning regarding Iran’s leadership. The military declared it would target anyone involved in the process of selecting a new Iranian Supreme Leader. Officials said that Israel will actively pursue those attempting to appoint a successor to Ayatollah Khamenei and maintain vigilance over future successors, signaling a strategic focus on Iran’s political hierarchy as part of its military objectives.

Analysts note that Israel’s statements mark an escalation in rhetoric, highlighting the risk of further conflict in the region. The focus on Iran’s leadership underscores a shift from conventional battlefield targets to political and strategic actors, which could have broader implications for regional stability.

Meanwhile, as per Iranian media, Assembly of Experts member and Iranian cleric Mohammad Mehdi Mirbagheri has said that there’s broad agreement on Khamenei’s successor, but some procedural issues still need to be resolved.
