IT exports sees significant increase of 17 per cent

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology has announced a noteworthy surge of approximately 17 per cent in IT revenues from July to March of the ongoing fiscal year. During this period, IT revenues witnessed a remarkable increase of around $34 million, elevating the total IT revenues to $2.283 billion.

In comparison, IT revenues for the same duration last year stood at $1.944 billion, indicating a $306 million boost in IT revenues for March alone, underscoring the sector’s robust growth.

Notably, last year’s March recorded IT revenues of $225 million. This year, there has been a notable 36% surge in IT revenues, reaching $306 million. Additionally, March’s IT revenues have shown a substantial 19% increase compared to February of this year.

The consistent upward trajectory in IT revenues reflects the sector’s resilience and its potential to make a significant contribution to the country’s economy.
