Italian Consulate in Karachi marks 80th Republic Day at PC Hotel, governor, CM attend

KARACHI: The Italian Consulate in Karachi celebrated the 80th anniversary of Italy’s Republic Day (La Festa della Repubblica Italiana) with a grand reception at the Pearl Continental Hotel, attended top governmetn officials of Pakistan.

The event was attended by Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, senior government officials, diplomats, military officers and members of civil society, according to the government sources.

Hosted by Italian Consul Fabrizio Bielli, the event commemorated the founding of the Italian Republic while highlighting the growing ties between Italy and Pakistan. In his address, Bielli underscored expanding cooperation in trade, commerce and economic sectors, and thanked guests for their support in strengthening bilateral relations.

The celebration featured an exhibition showcasing Italian excellence in luxury automobiles, fashion, interior design, fragrances and cuisine. Guests viewed iconic Italian vehicles including the Ferrari 488 GTB, Fiat Abarth 595 and Vespa Primavera 150 CC, alongside luxury furniture, premium textiles, designer perfumes and traditional Italian food and beverages.

Among the notable attendees were Faryal Talpur, Azra Pechuho and Asif Hyder Shah, along with parliamentarians, bureaucrats and representatives of the diplomatic community.

The event concluded with a lucky draw, with luxury gift hampers from leading Italian brands presented to selected winners.
