Italian tourist’s suicide: post-mortem reveals disturbing details

PESHAWAR: The post-mortem report on the alleged suicide of an Italian tourist, Joshua Moises Vargas, has been finalised, Hum News has learnt.

The report sheds light on disturbing details surrounding the tragic incident that occurred in a Peshawar hostel on December 3.

The foreign tourist was reportedly found dead in his hostel room, with the cause of death initially suspected to be suicide. The post-mortem report has since confirmed that Joshua Moises Vargas died of suffocation.

Further revelations from the post-mortem report indicate that the deceased was known to use sedative pills. Notably, blood marks were also discovered on the shirt worn by Vargas at the time of his death.

The report also outlines concerning physical findings, including black and blue discoloration on the thumbs of the deceased. Most notably, a noose mark was identified around the skin of Vargas’s neck, and the post-mortem report states that a bone on the left side of the neck was fractured.

Documents, mobile SIM cards, and other personal items recovered from the deceased have already been handed over to the local authorities. The police are now tasked with investigating the incident further.
