KOLKATA: Scotland defeated Italy by 73 runs in the ITL VS SCO clash on Friday, as the seventh match of the ICC T20 World Cup witnessed a dominant all-round performance from the Scottish side.
Michael Leask was named Player of the Match as the ITL VS SCO encounter came to an end. The match began with Italy winning the toss and opting to field first.

Batting first, Scotland produced an outstanding performance to post 207 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, the Italian team failed to put up a satisfactory performance and were bowled out for 134 runs in 16.4 overs.
George Munsey starred for Scotland with a brilliant 84-run knock, which included 13 fours and two sixes, helping Scotland become the first team in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup to cross the 200-run mark.
Brandon McMullen also made a valuable contribution, scoring 41 runs off 19 balls, featuring four sixes.

Italy managed to take only four wickets, with Thomas, JJ Smuts, Grant Stewart, and Hassan claiming one wicket each, but the target proved too challenging.
Scotland’s bowlers then put in a disciplined effort to defend the total comfortably, sealing a convincing 73-run victory in the ITL VS SCO match.
