Ivana Lisette Ortiz identified as suspect in shooting outside Rihanna’s LA home

Authorities have identified Ivana Lisette Ortiz as the woman accused of firing multiple shots outside Rihanna’s Los Angeles home while the singer was reportedly inside the property.

Ortiz, a 35-year-old from Florida, was arrested Sunday and booked on suspicion of attempted murder. Bail has been set at more than $10 million, according to investigators.

Police say the shooting occurred outside Rihanna’s mansion in the Beverly Glen neighbourhood of Los Angeles. Investigators believe the gunfire came from a vehicle parked across the street from the property.

Rihanna was at home when the shots were fired, but no injuries were reported.

Law enforcement sources say several rounds struck the exterior of the residence as well as a vehicle parked outside. None of the bullets entered the interior of the home.

Images from the scene showed bullet holes on the property’s front gate, which were later covered with tape as investigators documented the damage.

Authorities say Ivana Lisette Ortiz fled the area in a Tesla after the gunfire. Dispatch audio indicates the vehicle was later tracked by a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter before patrol units stopped it inside a shopping mall parking garage, where she was detained.

Investigators believe the weapon allegedly used in the shooting was an AR-style rifle. At least two neighbouring homes on the same block were also struck by gunfire.

Police are still trying to determine a motive and whether Ortiz knew the property belonged to Rihanna.

Law enforcement sources told ABC News that investigators are examining several aspects of Ivana Lisette Ortiz’s background, including her social media activity. One post believed to have been made in February reportedly contained unusual references to the singer.

Records from Florida show Ortiz has a criminal history that includes several domestic violence incidents dating back to 2023.

Rihanna shares three children with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. It remains unclear whether A$AP Rocky or the children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
