Javed Miandad discharged, “feeling better” after hospital scare for chest pain


WEB DESK:  Former Pakistan cricket captain and batting icon Javed Miandad was admitted to a cardiac hospital in Karachi on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain. The 68-year-old legend was swiftly discharged following a successful examination.

Media reports confirmed Miandad was taken to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). After undergoing necessary tests, including an angiography, doctors reviewed the results and deemed him healthy enough to return home.

Speaking from the hospital, Miandad expressed satisfaction with the care he received. “I am feeling much better. I am thankful for the facilities at NICVD,” he said. “With God’s grace and the nation’s prayers, my health will continue to improve.”

The news caused concern among fans across Pakistan and the cricketing world, given Miandad’s revered status. His quick discharge provided a wave of relief. Miandad, known for his aggressive batting and pivotal role in Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory, remains one of the sport’s most celebrated figures.
