Jayne Trcka: new details emerge in death investigation

Authorities have shared a new update in the investigation into the death of Jayne Trcka, the actor and former bodybuilder best known for her role in Scary Movie.

The San Diego Medical Examiner has confirmed that there was trauma present when Trcka was found at her home, though officials stressed that a cause of death has not yet been determined and the investigation remains ongoing.

Trcka, 62, was found unresponsive at her San Diego residence last month after a friend reportedly went to check on her when repeated phone calls went unanswered. Her death was previously confirmed by her son.

Medical officials declined to elaborate on the nature of the findings, saying it would be premature to draw conclusions while examinations and reviews continue.

Trcka rose to prominence after portraying the character Miss Mann in Scary Movie and later appeared in projects including The Bad Batch. She also made a brief cameo in Lady Gaga’s 2010 music video Telephone.

Before acting, she built a career in bodybuilding and professional wrestling, later describing herself as “the actress with the unique physique” on her official biography. She also worked as a personal trainer and realtor while pursuing roles in film and television.

Authorities have not indicated when further information may be released.
