JI calls APC amid allegations of election rigging

JI calls APC

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to address the glaring concerns over alleged electoral malpractice and riggging, the Jamaat-e-Islami has summoned an all-parties conference (APC).

According to a statement released by the party, the APC is slated to convene on February 25 in Islamabad.

It said that invitations have been sent all political parties from across the spectrum to participate in the APC.

The objective of the conference, as stated in the announcement, is to safeguard democracy and encourage all political entities to actively contribute to the promotion of genuine democratic practices in the country.

JI chief Siraj ul Haq said that the 2024 elections were most controversial, polluted and fraudulent, tarnishing the nation’s electoral history. He noted ongoing efforts to engage with all affected political parties, including PTI, to address the prevailing concerns.

Haq underscored the significance of recent revelations by the former commissioner of Rawalpindi, affirming their stance on electoral integrity. He urged a collective awakening, indicating that those involved in electoral misconduct would be held accountable if their (other officers) conscience awakens to the truth.
