RAWALPINDI: A funeral prayer in absentia for slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was held at Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) ongoing sit-in against inflation. The event, which took place at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi, saw a large turnout of attendees.
JI leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman condemned the killing of Haniyeh and affirmed that the Hamas movement would continue undeterred.
“A martyr always becomes the title of a new revolution. Haniyeh’s blood will not be in vain; Israel must be destroyed, and Palestine must be freed,” he said.
Furthermore, funeral prayers in absentia were also conducted in various cities across the country, drawing significant participation from citizens.
