According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday, the said documents are currently housed in Zurich’s City Archives. They comprise a compilation of photographs, history, and details about the life of Ahmad Ali Jinnah. They also hold relevance to Fatima Goepfert Jinnah, the niece of the Founder of Pakistan.

President Alvi’s initiative stems from the recognition of the national value and interest in accessing these records. The First Lady, Samina Alvi, displayed personal interest after visiting the Zurich Archives in January 2024.

In his letter to the Swiss President, President Alvi requested that Switzerland gift this collection to the National Archives of Pakistan. By doing so, the Swiss Confederation would not only contribute to the preservation of Pakistan’s heritage but also aid in a deeper understanding of its history.
