Olivia Munn has opened up about the toll of her ongoing cancer treatment, describing it as “exhausting” as she continues her recovery years after her diagnosis, while raising a young family with John Mulaney.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actor said she is “good today”, but admitted the medication she takes daily can be draining.

“The medicine you have to take afterwards is sometimes so exhausting,” she said.

‘I feel lucky just to be here’

Despite the challenges, Munn said her outlook has completely changed since her diagnosis.

“I know that I’m lucky to be here,” she said, adding that even in moments of exhaustion, she sees life as a privilege rather than something taken away from her.

She also spoke about the importance of being present, especially in everyday moments with her children.

The diagnosis that changed everything

Munn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer after further testing revealed the illness in both breasts.

Initial screenings showed no abnormalities, but a risk assessment indicated a high lifetime risk, prompting further tests that led to the diagnosis.

She later underwent a double mastectomy along with additional surgeries as part of her treatment.

Life now with John Mulaney and family

Munn, who shares two children with John Mulaney, said facing the possibility of death has reshaped how she values time.

“Life happens on a Tuesday,” she said, urging people to focus on small, everyday moments rather than big occasions.

She revealed she still has years of treatment ahead, including medication such as Arimidex.

Her comments offer a candid look at both the physical toll of cancer and the emotional shift that has followed, as she continues to move forward with her family.
