Johnny Depp is at the centre of a legal dispute after his band, Hollywood Vampires, was sued over a cancelled concert, with new claims pointing to a “mystery” hospital stay.

A concert promoter in Slovakia alleges the band pulled out of a July 2023 show despite receiving around $277,000 in advance and never returning the money.

$277K dispute over cancelled show

The lawsuit claims the band cancelled their appearance at the last minute, initially blaming issues with the venue.

The promoter says the decision caused financial losses and damaged their reputation in the industry.

The band also features Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.

‘Mystery’ hospital claim raises questions

However, the filing alleges the real reason for the cancellation was Depp’s reported hospitalisation for an unspecified issue.

The claim suggests the situation was unrelated to the venue concerns cited at the time.

The promoter further alleges that attempts to recover the advance payment were ignored.

In response, the band has moved to dismiss the case, arguing that the Texas court does not have jurisdiction over the dispute.

No public comment has been made on the hospitalisation claim.
